Work Resumes

Well... now that the city has finally given us the ok, we just have a little longer until we actually have our permits.
In the meantime, we started to do the rest of the demolition for the lower unit.
Next weekend we take everything to the dumps... any volunteers?

It's a Cold Day In Hell

Hell has officially frozen over.
We had our hearing with the city today about the sidewalk encroachment.
And... Wait for it.... wait for it.... they APPROVED it!
That should be the last last hoop we need to jump through.
Now it should be a simple process of submitting the paperwork and getting our permits in hand.
So, that means blog updates will be coming more regularly.

"Insanity"

The next steps....

1. Wait for the Bureau of Street-Use and Mapping to process our endorsement letters.
2. Bureau of Street-Use and Mapping will send required paperwork to the Department of Public Works @ City Hall
3. Department of Public Works will then put paperwork inline to get a hearing date.
4. Hearing Date gets assigned.
5. Notification is sent out 10 days prior to hearing to all neighbors within 120 feet of our lot.
6. Our case is brought before the Supervisors of the Department of Public Works.
7. Supervisors review case and listen to any public comments.
8. Hell freezes over

9. We get our Permits.

As of right now, we are on step 1.

And as my bother put it so simply, "Insanity"

So we start again...

Although we have yet to get our permits, we have started the work on the lower unit...
It is strangely reminiscent of the upper unit...
